Becky has managed ABG’s orchid collection since 1995; as Manager of the FOC since its opening in 2002 she has developed the design, installation and care of permanent plantings and seasonal displays.
For 15 years prior to 2002 she was Greenhouse Manager/Propagator of ABG’s 10,000 sq. ft. back up greenhouse range specializing in the propagation and culture of the Garden’s large and diverse collections of carnivorous plants, gesneriads, orchids, bromeliads, aroids and woody plants.
Becky studied Botany at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and worked as a student in the greenhouses of both the Botany and Horticulture departments.
Before moving to Wisconsin she worked for two years in her hometown, Cincinnati , Ohio, as a grower at JA Peterson Sons, one of the country’s last remaining large wholesale growers of gesneriads.
Becky loves all greenhouses, but her deepest hometown attachment is to Krohn Conservatory, where she learned to love plants.
